Ambrosia's Sky's demo is a little bit like being Samus with a spray gun

Ambrosia Sky mixes the joy of powerwashing with the action and mystery of a serious sci-fi campaign.

A sci-fi environment left abandoned, with books and personal materials scattered on the floor. The scene is lit by a circular window through which we can see a pink sky and strange land masse

Ambrosia Sky is a game that’s been on my radar since its announcement, since it has an obvious appeal: what if you took the chill gameplay of a cozy cleaning game, and married it to a sci-fi mystery? The art direction for the game is ultra-stylish, and I was curious to see how the premise paid off, so I checked out the demo on Steam Next Fext, which will remain available until Oct. 20.

It is 2240, and Earth has been destroyed by humanity’s greed. I play a woman named Dalia Volkova, arriving at a colony called the Cluster, formed amongst the ruins of the Rings of Saturn. Dalia is a member of a scientific/spiritual order called the Scarabs, who study deadly catastrophes. Daria once called the Cluster home, and now she’s here to conduct an autopsy on the colony.

The demo gives a good taste of what the player can expect, but leaves tons of breadcrumbs that will clearly pay out into bigger plot twists in the main game. As I take a look around and get my bearings, Dalia chats to her contact, Maaz, about the history she had with various inhabitants of the ship. I delve deeper and begin using Daria’s chemical sprayer to wash away the fungus.
