Double protagonists forever, please

Resident Evil 9 does duel protagonists better than almost any game that I can think of, and Halo 2 is one of the most formative games in my life. Jumping between Grace and Leon not only offers a pretty welcome tonal shift – some of the Grace sections get pretty intense, and Leon is a badass dope, as usual – it also gives you that powertrip fantasy without killing the tension for the rest of the game, which solves the major “eye roll moment” I encounter every time I play a new Resident Evil.

See, every Resident Evil game starts by offering you a tense, resource starved adventure. And then, if you play like a hyper-efficient sicko the way I do, you eventually find yourself with so much ammo and so many upgraded items that you absolutely breeze through large chunks of the game. I like that part of a Resident Evil campaign, it feels like a reward for all the headshots I hit, and the time I spent kiting enemies around so my grenades hit maximum payload in crowds of enemies

But then, something always happens. The great, inevitable culling of ammo.
