World of Warcraft: Midnight's new purple Demon Hunter rounds out the class in the perfect way

It's like the normal Demon Hunter, but you can take a few steps back

It's important to remember that, as a culture, World of Warcraft: Legion was peak World of Warcraft, nostalgia goggles for the glory days of Wrath of the Lich King be damned. Most of those good times came from the beautiful zones, the story, the imperfect Artifact system, and the introduction of Mythic+ and World Quests. But the addition of the Demon Hunter class should not be undervalued.

The Demon Hunter was the first class added to WoW that didn't really feel like you were playing WoW. That's because, unlike other classes, Demon Hunters can double jump and glide at any time (Evokers would eventually inherit the glide skill, but lose the double jump). To this day, the Demon Hunter is my favorite class to log into if I just want to do some questing or mess around in the world.

But while I've always kept a Demon Hunter leveled and ready to go, I do run into a pretty big problem with the class: I dislike playing Havoc (the Demon Hunter DPS spec) in endgame content. And because Vengeance (the Tank spec) is only usable in certain groups, and it can be hard to find a raiding guild in need of a tank, I find myself drawn to other classes when I search for Mythic+ or raiding groups.

But in World of Warcraft: Midnight, Blizzard has solved this problem for me, adding the brand new Devourer specialization into the fold. And thanks to a bit of early access to the Midnight alpha from Blizzard, I've played it.
