Donkey Kong Bananza Hilltop Layer Banandium Gem locations
There are so, so many Banandium Gems in Donkey Kong Bananza. Let's move on to SL200, the Hilltop Layer.

There are so, so many Banandium Gems in Donkey Kong Bananza. You'll find a lot of them just by playing the game. Others are a reward for the game's numerous challenge dungeons. Still others (but very few of them, honestly) are buried in the terrain.
You'll get a skill point for every five Banandium Gems you find, so they're almost always worth your while.
Let's move on to the Hilltop Layer, which is the next level after the Lagoon Layer.
Hilltop Layer SL200 Banandium Gem locations
There are 35 Banandium Gems to find on SL200. Because of the weird come-back-later numbering, there's no 3 through 5 (yet).
1. Bruised Peekabruiser

These are the gems you'll find as soon as you land in the Hilltop Layer.
2. Cave-Dwelling Treasure

From where you started the level, follow along the ramp that leads to the village. Just before the end of the giant stone banana (look at the map if you didn't notice), drop down on the right side. There's a small gave with a shy Fractone inside. Use Bananza power to follow it through the Concrete walls until you drop into a chamber with a Banandium Gem in the ceiling. (One of the Fractones inside turns into a cube you can stand up and punch up from.)
6. Battle: Dig, Dig, Dig on Down

From the ramp down to the village, drop off and take a hard right. You'll find a pair of Fractones looking at a ruin. Sing to get it open and punch your way inside. As soon as you land, activate Kong Bananza and just keep Dive Punching until you reach the Crockoid at the very bottom.
7. The Shifty Path under the Village

Head between the Style Shop and the Chip Exchange in the village. You'll find a path here to the Shifty Platform Road challenge, but that's next. Instead, jump off the left side and look for a ledge just a little below the outcropping. There, you'll find a pair of those shifting Neptunite(?) blocks. Hit them with stone to make them solid and punch through the wall to find a Banandium Gem.
Shifty Platform Road

When you pass between the Style Shop and the Chip Exchange in the Fractone Village, you'll find a shifting patch of Neptunite (I think that's what these are called?). Grab something — even a chunk of the Fractone there — and make a path to the challenge.
8. A Shifty Path Forward

You'll find the first Banandium Gem just past the first couple shifting blocks.
9. An Out-of-the-Way Room

Right where you picked up gem #8, look over the edge of the platform on the left side. You'll find another Neptunite block below you. Toss something onto it and drop down. Grab a chunk of whatever you're standing on to smash through the thorns, and then hop into the room you reveal for this gem.
10. Make-Your-Own Platforms

Finish the challenge and reach the end to collect the third Banandium Gem.
11. Hilltop Fragmentone Recovery

From the Fractone Village, drop off the cliff over by the Eelevator and you'll find a tunnel filled with gold. Follow it to meet a puzzle-piece-shaped Fractone. They're missing three pieces (Fragmentones) and will give you one Banandium for the first you retrieve and another when you find all three. The first is just past the Fractone on the left side in the tunnel. Give it a high-five and it'll follow you back.
12. Hilltop Fragmentone Restoration

The other two Fragmentones are also in the same tunnel. The first is on a ledge on the right side of the tunnel. The other is in a hole just a little farther along. You'll have to punch some holes in the ground to give them a smooth path back to the Fractone.
13. Battle: Spike Spout Scrap

As you leave the village, look on the right side close to the path for a cave with a stone banana arch over top. Inside, you'll find a ruins platform. Inside, you'll need to take out three Crockoids in Kong Bananza form while avoiding spike balls to claim your Banandium.
14. Hilltop Hide-and-Seek

When you leave the village for the Construction Site, veer to the left a bit. You'll come to a weird sculpture park made out of Concrete. Talk to the Fractone there to learn that there are four Fractones hiding nearby. They're pretty obvious when you get close.
- The first is just past the main guy along the wall — you can see their feet sticking out of the rock.
- The second is in the wall itself just behind the crack.
- The third is on the back side of the Concrete section — you'll need to activate Kong Bananza to smash them.
- The final one is in the base of the largest banana sculpture.
15. Hilltop Smashin' Stats

Just past the Construction Site sinkhole, look for a Fractone to talk to. They'll challenge you to smash 20,000 cubic meters of stone in this layer. Once you do, they'll give you a Banandium Gem.
16. Bloomed in the Hilltop Layer

At the Construction Site, turn left and look at the field below you. There's a pair of Fractones in a pool of water next to a giant banana-shaped rock. When you approach, they'll say they need light. All you have to do is smash a hole through the stone so that light hits them and you'll get a Banandium Gem reward.
Thorny Hill Speed Surf

To the right of and below the Construction Site, you'll find a challenge course with a couple Fractones standing nearby.
17. Thorny-Hill Finish Line

You'll get one Banandium Gem for finishing the race before the timer runs out.
18. Thorny-Hill Buzzer Beater
You'll get a second Banandium Gem for finishing with 20 seconds or more on the clock. To do this, hit Y constantly to speed up and stick to the clear path in the middle of the road (the thorns seem to slow you down a little).
19. Thorny-Hill Hideaway

At the finish line, grab a chunk of something (or someone) and use it to double-jump onto the wall. You'll find the third Banandium Gem on the other side.
20. Shifty Smash: Break the Canopy

As you approach Peel Peak, you'll need to climb up the side. Before you do, though, look for a tunnel at ground level. Head inside to find this challenge.
21. Battle: Three-Tiered Tussel

On your way up the side of Peel Peak, watch for a battle challenge platform in an alcove. Inside, take out the three Crockoids for your Banandium Gem.
22. Peeled from Peel Peak

After the Construction Site, you'll head to Peel Peak (where you can buy your first Hideaway). Climb up and clear the Void to uncover this Banandium Gem.
23. The Skies over Peel Peak

At the peak of Peel Peak, climb on top of the stone arch and look up. Toss something at the floating platform to bring down the next Banandium Gem.
24. Bananas All the Way Down

At the base of Peel Peak, look for a Concrete wall at the bottom of the center banana. You'll need to double jump to reach it, and then Kong Bananza to get through. This Banandium Gem is inside.
25. Shifty Smash: The Rotating Ring

From the top of Peel Peak, look back toward the Construction Site. Off to your left, look for one of those caves with a stone banana arch at the entrance. Inside, you'll find a Shifty Stone challenge. This one's tricky, but just activate Bananza mode and go ape (I'm so sorry).
Spiked-Tide Slope

Facing Peel Peak, you'll find this challenge ruin at the butt end of the leftmost banana.
26. Against the Winding Tide

You'll get the first Banandium Gem for making it past the first batch of spiked balls.
27. Against the Winding Tide

For the second section, pull up the carrot-/radish-things to get some Boom Rock. Toss it at the winding path ahead of you to divert the spiked balls. You'll find this Banandium Gem at the far end.
28. Amidst the Hidden Tide

Before you leave, though, look down below the narrow path that leads to the finish line. Drop down to the dirt path there, and pull up the carradishes for some Boom Rock. Toss one at the Concrete wall across the ceiling and the second at the Concrete wall collecting the spiked balls. Turn around and climb the wall to the wire mesh above you. Swing (brachiate, if you want to be technical) across to the far side and collect your gem.
29. The Flying Banana

To the right of Fractone Village, there's a Banandium Gem hanging from a floating platform that's spitting out spiked balls. Hit the platform with something to block the dispenser, and then chase it down to claim your gem.
30. Gold-Dipped Banana

To the right of the Fractone Village, there's a weird disc of Concrete buried in the ground and surrounded by pillars spitting out spiked balls. Try to block the dispensers with dirt and then use Kong Bananza to smash through the Concrete. The Banandium Gem is buried in gold underground.
31. Hilltop Quiz Master

All the way to the right edge of the island from Fractone Village, look for a huge stone banana. On top, you'll meet a very dapper Fractone who will quiz you on trivia about the game.
- What do you spend at Style Shops? Fossils
- What did you lose in the first attack? Helmet
- What's another use for gold? Explosive
Get them all right, and you'll get a Banandium Gem.
32. Cranky's Hilltop Rant

Just a little past the quizmaster, you'll spot Rambi at the peak of the banana. Grab some dirt and throw it at the base of Cranky's floating platform to bring it down. Listen to his rant to get another Banandium Gem.
33. Shifty Smash: Downhill Run

In the Fractone Village, face the Construction Site and then turn to the right. A ways out in the field there, you'll see a cave with a stone banana arching over the entrance. Head inside and punch the shifting pyramid to start the challenge. Get to the far end of the hall as quick as you can (you can Turf Surf, but you also have enough time to just run) and clear 100% of the block that appears.
34. Tunneling Through the Pit

At the Construction Site, after you open the sinkhole, drop in. On your way down, watch for some ledges on the edge of the tube. The second one down has a Concrete wall. Smash through it to find this Banandium Gem.
Nostalgia Country

At the bottom of the sinkhole from the Construction Site, you'll find a challenge ruin on the left side.
35. Treasured Memories

The first Banandium Gem is right at the very beginning of the stage. As soon as you enter, turn back to the left. Double jump up and climb the wall to find DK's house. Inside, use the tire to bounce up and smash the Banandium Gem.
36. Over the Valley and 37. Hijinks in the Jungle

Both of the remaining Banandium Gems are along the main path through the challenge and you can't miss them.
38. Hilltop Chip Exchange

In the Fractone Village, you'll find the game's first Chip Exchange where you can trade in Banandium Chips for Banandium Gems. In the collection screen, you only get credit for one, but you can do it as many times as you can afford to get extra skill points.
