How to destroy corrupted Items in FBC: Firebreak
Corrupted Items can really ruin your run in FBC: Firebreak. But destroying them gives valuable resources for upgrading perks. Here's how to neutralize Corrupted Items.

Corrupted Items are great boons and banes in FBC: Firebreak. Once you've completed all three Clearance levels of a Job, you can up the Corruption level as well, which will flood the Job with one, two, or three Corrupted Items. In classic Control fashion, these are household or worldly items that look perfectly normal, but do spectacularly bizarre things. A possessed snare drum might float around a boss arena making enemies move extremely fast, for example, or a possessed riot helmet might gift enemies an excessive amount of armor. These items add some spice to every arena they're in, but defeating them both ends the effect and offers a reward.
In this Big Friendly Guide, we'll walk you through how to destroy Corrupted Items and if it's worth moving your Corruption level up at all.
How to destroy Corrupted Items in FBC: Firebreak

Corrupted Items only take damage from Black Rock, meaning that your standard or even elemental bullets won't be enough. You can use the Black Rock ammo perk, but that's not as reliable or efficient as using a Black Rock Neutralizer weapon. On your way to earning Corruption as a mechanic, you've probably seen a few of these cannons sitting in safe rooms, and you've probably used them to absolutely decimate waves of Hiss. Once you have to deal with Corrupted Items, these Black Rock Neutralizers become far more precious, as you can use them to disintegrate the Corrupted Items that are bothering you.
Once you find a Black Rock Neutralizer, killing the Corrupted Item is as simple as 1) point, and 2) shoot. If you don't miss too much, it will run out of health before you run out of Black Rock Neutralizer ammo. Finding a Black Rock Neutralizer is the real barrier to success here, but you can find them (occasionally) in safe rooms and always at ammo stations.
One quick tip here is that if you have a Black Rock Neutralizer with some ammo left in it after destroying a Corrupted Item, you should place it at the door to the next area. This will allow you to very quickly combat the Corrupted Items in the second and third zones, so you don't have to run around like an asshole looking for another Black Rock Neutralizer while your friends are being run down by 400% movement speed enemies.
Should you increase your Corrupted level in FBC: Firebreak

The short answer here is yes, you should increase the Corruption level in FBC: Firebreak. The caveat is that, depending on the object you get, it can make the run significantly harder to manage for your team. The coordination required to best most objects is pretty basic if you have any meaningful way to communicate, so you should be totally fine if you're playing with friends, for example. But if you're just matchmaking in with randoms? Maybe consider only doing one or two levels (or none at all).
The reason you really want to jump in with Corruption, if you can hack it, is that Corrupted Items drop Specific Samples when you defeat them. As you get into the endgame and want to level up your perks, you'll need more of these resources to increase your power. Corrupted Items are the best, most reliable way to farm for Specific Samples.
