Resident Evil Requiem walkthrough, part 8
Born in East RC
Well, Grace escaped the Care Center with Emily and it didn’t go well. And now, we pick up with Leon in Raccoon City.
Programming note: This one is long, but it covers everything Leon has to do in East Raccoon City. And there's a lot he has to do just to collect three bomb parts.
Leon — East Raccoon City

When you get control of Leon, follow the street. Read the Raccoon City Incident Report newspaper on the ground to your right.
At the intersection, loop around to the left to find a Shotgun Shell crate between some cars. Head back to the intersection.

A little way down, take the first left into the Cafe Oasis. There’s a Mr. Raccoon behind the counter. Head into the kitchen in the back for some Scrap.

Go one building over into The Applegate Hotel. Cut to the right for more Scrap and the From Meryl to Mommy note. On the left side, look behind the reception desk for a Med Injector. There are some Shotgun Shells along the back wall. Push through the revolving door at the back.
Follow the street left for a Shelob cameo.
NF Building
Turn away for the collapsed door and smash the crate for more Shotgun Shells. Follow the hall until the spider shows up again.

Turn around (back on the left thumbstick + B/circle) and run all the way back to the collapsed door. You can land a few shots, but the next part is scripted — Leon gets smashed through the wall.

When you get up, start running and hook to the right and through the door you find there. Follow the hall and go up the stairs. At the top, cut through the web on your right for some Handgun Ammo.

Follow the path around until you run into some baby spiders — about two clips worth of them. Keep going the only way you can until you get to the fire escape (and get body checked by Shelob). Climb the ladder to the roof.

It’s time for a boss fight. There’s a ladder you can jump to directly ahead with some Handgun Ammo at the top. If you follow that ledge right, you can drop down on the other side of the wall for a Shotgun Ammo crate.

Your job here is to use the looping paths to stay ahead of the spider, and shoot it in the face a lot. When you stun it, shoot it in the pulsating yellow blister on its abdomen.
Ridgewood Station

When the dust settles, climb off the tracks and head upstairs. There’s a locked gate to the left, so push through the turnstile on your right and pry open the next gate.
Find a detonator

Take a left from the gate. On the left side of the street directly across from the Central Camp, check the front seat of the truck for some Handgun Ammo.

Cross to the south past the APC. At the dead end, open the car’s trunk for some Shotgun Shells.
Head east into the Central Camp. Turn right along the outside of the tent to find a shipping container we can’t open. Just past that is a weapon case with Shotgun Shells and Handgun Ammo.

At the back side of the area, cut to the left to find a generator. Turn it on and then head into the tent for a cutscene. The computer in there is a save point.
On the right, pick up the Orders for the Engineer Corps with three more things to collect. On the left, grab the Tactical Tracker. This will let you turn kills into gear (try not to think about the in-world implications of that too much).
Back outside, at the south end of the camp area, hit the button to open the garage door. Duck inside.
Logistics Warehouse 1F

Follow the loading bay around and go into the room on your left. Open the lockers for some Gunpowder (Small). Open the crate on the desk for a Hand Grenade.

Over to the east in the warehouse proper, Leon will say the sort of thing you’d say if you were trying to get attacked by zombies. Take a left. Smash the crate for some Shotgun Shells, and then take a right.

Should “I TOLD YOU SO” at Leon and put down the small crowd of zombies. Watch for drops from them — two Scrap and a Gunpowder (Small). Smash the nearby crate for some Shotgun Shells. Head up the central aisle to trigger one more zombie and then snake back down the far wall to find a button to push.

Buttons are for cowards, so shoot down the giant crate and then climb both ladders. Deal with the zombies at the top and the continue left. Watch along the windows for a Green Herb.

Turn around from the windows and drop off the walkway you’re on. As you reach the end, you’ll spawn a few more zombies. Once they’re dealt with, shoot down the crate ahead of you and to the right to make a walkway. Smash the crates for Shotgun Shells and a Green Herb.

Head back to the middle walkway and follow it south until you can shoot down the crate there. At the top of the ramp, take a right and shoot the zombie. You’ll find the Cedarbrook Apartments Key at the back of that room.
Go through the door next to the key box and through the closet to the roof. Climb the ladder on your right.
Get some fuel

The generator ahead of you is, of course, out of gas. Take a right and go through the door. Follow the hall to another ladder.

At the top, take a right for a Green Herb. While you’re up here, don’t forget about your rifle for sniping the zombies in the distance to the left. Back to the north, open the yellow case for the Distributor.
Leon will pull out a range finder. Follow the arcs to find your three targets — straight ahead, down and to the left, and behind and above you. Take a left and take the lift back down to the Central Camp.
Back in the tent, cash in your kills for the Case Upgrade (8x13) and whatever else you’d like. Make sure you check the next tab over to see the weapons upgrades available for your guns — and, bonus, attachments transfer over if you buy a new gun like the Silenced 9.
Save, and then head back toward the street. Before you get there, take the stairs on the right down and use the apartments key.
Cedarbrook Apartments

As you come through the gate, shoot down the crate ahead of you for a Hand Grenade. At the next corner, the stairs up lead to a locked door, and the ladder is out of reach, so down it is.
Down the hall, you’ll sneak up on a zombie. Stealth kill him for a Tracking Module (Common).

Take a left into the door he was in front of. There’s a Mr. Raccoon, some Rifle Ammo, a Green Herb, and some Scrap inside.
Keep following the hall.

At the next room, take a left and go down the stairs into the flooded area. Deal with the zombie, and then check the Battery Box in the far right for the Battery Storage Locations. Two more things to collect.
Turn around and climb the ladder to enter the Underground Parking Garage.
Underground Parking Garage

Take a left and start working your way around clockwise. You’ll be able to stealth kill most zombies you run into. Climb into the open semi trailer along the south wall and hop out the door on your left.

Keep working around clockwise and open the door on the back of the truck you find there for a Hand Grenade and some Machine Gun Ammo.
There’s another truck to open straight north, but this one only has zombies and an exploding barrel inside. Just make sure you back away a bit before you shoot it.

Cut to the right (you can snipe that zombie in the back left corner without drawing too much attention) and climb into the container there. Head forward. As you get close to the the landing in the left corner, a pair of zombies will jump you.
To the left of the door, smash the crate for Shotgun Shells. Go through the door they came out of for some Shotgun Shells and the Gal submachine gun. Grab the Battery out of the socket on the wall.

Before you climb that ladder, head back out and take a left. There’s a crate on your left with some Shotgun Shells, a Tracking Module (Common), and a Gunpowder (Large). There are a few more zombies to the right if you’re looking for a fun way to burn through that machine gun ammo you found (and it pads you kill count). Finally, there’s one more truck to open in the northeast corner with Rifle Ammo and Machine Gun Ammo inside.

Head back to the room in the northwest corner and climb the ladder. Stay up on the walkway and shoot the two zombies that show up. There’s a box with some Machine Gun Ammo on your left as you go. At the far end, you’ll drop back into the area where you started.
Next, we go to the Sewage Facility.
Sewage Facility

Go through the door and follow the hall (and, presumably, smell) toward the Sewage Facility. You’ll come to a room with a crank-less lock on your left. Smash the box on the nearby shelves for a Gunpowder (Large). Take the ladder down.

Follow the hall and grab the Green Herb as you pass. When you run out of path to follow, drop down to a walkway and then drop down again. Immediately turn around to grab the Shotgun Shells and the Valve Handwheel from the tunnel behind you.
All hell is about to break loose, so reload everything you have and craft up as much ammo as you can. You probably even have a couple grenades you can make into a Stacked Grenade — do that.
When you first approach the gate, a pair of regular zombies will pop up. Put them down the usual way.

Put the handwheel in the socket next to the gate. Hold the button just long enough that the gate starts moving and then let go. You’ll see another Blister Borne bearing down on you. Toss the Stacked Grenade through the gap, and then switch over to Requiem. Use any bullets you’ve got, and then just keep working your way through your guns. If you’re quick, you’ll only have a couple Blisterheads to deal with at the same time.
Catch your breath, and go finish turning the handwheel.

Follow the gate that moves to find a pair of crates with Machine Gun Ammo and Shotgun Shells. Continue forward into the next round room.
Cut right immediately and throw the exploding barrel at the nearest zombie. Run back to the left, and you’ll spot another spear zombie in the middle of this area. You’re behind him, though, so take him out. Gather up any drops, and then head toward the stairs in the southeast. There’s a crate behind you with Shotgun Shells. Head up.

Grab the Green Herb at the top and cross the bridge you moved with the handwheel and go grab the other Battery. Unlock the door to the left and go through.
Go up the ladder, and you’ll be heading back to the Underground Parking Garage.
Go down the stairs into the water and pop the Batteries into the wall socket.
Street

Up on the street, turn right. Stick to the right side of the road and run as far as you can for a Green Herb. Keep following the road down the ramp and snake around the various vehicles.

At the far end, there’s a Gunpowder (Large) crate. On the left side, open the car’s trunk for some Handgun Ammo. Head back up.

Stick to the right side again. You’ll pass a couple shipping containers and one has a crate on top. Turn around to the left to find a ladder up. Smash the crate for some Shotgun Shells.
At the top of the ramp, check the cars in the road for openable trunks. The one in the middle gets you some Rifle Ammo.
When you get close to the Gas Station, one of the zombies in the road will go Blisterhead. Pop open the truck near there for a Hand Grenade.

Cut to the right and loop around the overturned truck. Follow the alley back to a headless corpse with a Med Injector and a Hand Grenade. Keep heading west until you find a whole lot of headless commandos.

After the cutscene with still-not-Cody Rhodes, you’ll pick up the BSAA Container Key. Check the container there for a Med Injector and the Inventory List file.
Cross the street and go around the truck to find a hanging case with some Rifle Ammo and a Green Herb.

Keep heading west. On your way, you’ll pass a car with some Gunpowder (Large) in the trunk. As you pass the bus, check the driver’s window for a Mr. Raccoon.

Keep going west along the right side of the street until you hit the sinkhole. There’s another empty generator on the right. Throw the switch at the base of the crane to create a bridge over the sinkhole and back to the Central Camp.
You should have a ton of credits to spend at the Supply Box — I had enough to buy a new shotgun and submachine gun and Body Armor and still had enough left over for a few upgrades. Go nuts.
Outside, use your new BSAA Container Key on the container for a Repair Kit and Chekov’s dirtbike.
Gas Station

Back on the street, take a right and go past the bus again. Right after it, turn left and look for a shootable ladder on the scaffolding. Drop it, and climb up. Open the case for a Hand Grenade.

Follow the ramps and walkways across and into the Gas Station. When you land, head right and smash the crate by the compact car for some Shotgun Shells.

Duck into the store to find a Mr. Raccoon on the shelves. To the left is some Scrap. Keep working around clockwise to find a sneak-attack zombie and the From Meryl to Mommy 2 note.

Continue into the front room to find some Rifle Ammo in the lockers, and then out into the fenced-in area to find a Green Herb crate, a generator, and a Gas Can.

When you get back inside, you’ll get jumped by a chainsaw zombie. Keep that chainsaw, because there’s a wave of zombies outside, too — a wave that culminates in a chainsaw duel (heavy metal noises).
Smash the Handgun Ammo crate at the back of the lot, and then duck into the building in the northwest corner for another one.

Use the big fuel tank to turn your Gas Can into a Gas Can with Fuel. Take it back to the generator out front and fuel it. It’ll turn on automatically.
Cedarbrook Apartments

Cross the street to the Cedarbrook Apartments. Head in through the door to your right — by where the BSAA commandos met their end.

Before anything, hop through the window on your right. Look up above you for a case to shoot down. Do so and grab the Requiem Ammo inside.
Back inside, go past the stairs for a Green Herb and a big case with Shotgun Shells, Machine Gun Ammo x2, and some Rifle Ammo.

Go through the door under the stairs to unlock the way to the alley we were in before. While you’re here, shoot down the ladder (since we know how now), and climb it for some Gunpowder (Large) and some Requiem Ammo.

Head back in and upstairs. Follow the second floor around and back outside, take a right, turn right again at the crankless locked door, and head back inside again.
Deal with the zombie and then drop to the floor below. Smash the crate ahead of you when you land for some Handgun Ammo, and then deal with the trio of machine gun zombies that show up. They’ll drop ammo, but not guns, sadly.

Use — and then break off — the crank on the wall to open the door and pick up the Rusty Crank. You’ll be back in the lobby. Head upstairs and a zombie with a grenade primed will smash through the wall.
Head outside and use the crank on the gate to the right. Climb the ladder to the roof. Smash the crate at the top for some Rifle Ammo and then head inside and straight down the hall for more Rifle Ammo.

Back outside, climb the stairs to the roof. You’re going to start getting hit with mortars around this point, so equip your rifle and stick close to something solid.
The first mortar is straight west of you. Snipe the mortar zombie.

Head west across the roof toward the skylight, and then turn left. Shoot down that hanging case in the skylight as you pass — we’ll get it on the way out — and duck into the room.
Grab the Med Injector and look through the broken wall on your left. There’s a zombie on the ground who will make things more difficult for you in a second. Take him out from here.

Wait for a gap in the mortars. Head out and then straight right (east) to get behind some equipment. A couple BSAA zombies will start shambling toward you, but you’ll only need to clean them up after they get hit with the mortar.

You can’t quite get an angle on the mortar to the southwest yet, though. Wait for a gap and run straight south into another building. You can snipe the second mortar now. Smash the crate for some Shotgun Shells.

Take a right and run to the west. Skip the stairs and run behind the corner for a Shotgun Shell crate. Run up the stairs and through the door.
Things are about to get hectic, so just trust the process here. You might get shot a little, but this way will save you a ton of ammo and make this next section infinitely easier.

The roof of this room will get destroyed by a mortar round. As soon as that happens, run out and take the first left. Toss a Hand Grenade up onto the roof ahead of you — to the left of the mortar, near the top of the ladder. Once it goes off, jump up to the ladder and climb it. At the top, immediately turn around and jump back down — there’s a grenade zombie right there that you should’ve activated with the Hand Grenade.
Climb back up and make sure you’re alone on this roof. Go interact with the mortar.

You need to pepper mortars all along the path from you to the other mortar ahead of you. Prioritize any zombies who are getting close. Sneak a couple behind walls to make sure you’re getting all of them. Don’t forget about the one manning (zombie-ing?) the other mortar. If any get close, disengage from the mortar and handle them by hand.
Once the danger music stops, you should be in the clear (there might be one more zombie who pops up, but he’ll be on his own).

Your last mortar round should go into the gap in the roof all the way to the right and closest to you. This will destroy a wall we need to go through.
Drop down to the roof below you and go through the wall you destroyed on the left to find a Requiem Round. Cross to the east to find a Rifle Ammo crate. Keep heading north.

Watch for any drops and take a left when you hit the wall. Loop around and climb the ladder to the roof. Read the Engineer Corps Note note and then open the yellow case for the Broken Signal Receiver. Combine it with the Distributor and then Repair it to get the Distributor & Signal Receiver.

Jump off the roof to the south and take a left. A bunch more vanilla zombies will show up.
If you’re careful and patient, you can wait for a few of them to line up on the ramps and get the “Bang For Your Buck” achievement for killing three at once with Requiem. A couple of them will go Blisterhead, so be ready for that.
Backtrack all the way back to the ladder that brought you up here, dealing with zombies as necessary.

Take the left back into the building and take the first right into a big stairwell — we’re going down to grab that case we shot down a little bit ago. Start working your way down.
On the first landing, don’t shoot the exploding barrel. Take the zombie next to it down some other way, and then turn around. Wait for the pair of BSAA zombies to round the corner and use the barrel to take them out.
On the next landing, grab the Shotgun Shells and Stacked Grenade when you run out of path. Jump off the ledge to your left.
Grab the Tracking Module (Rare) from the case in the middle of the floor and head back outside.

On the street, wait at the front of the sedan. There’s a roving Blisterhead across the street. If you have the ammo, three rifle headshots will put it down.
Off to the left, there’s another Blisterhead behind the bus.
Once they’re both dealt with, cross the bridge back to the Central Camp. You’ll have another boatload of credits to spend, so dump them into various upgrades for your weapons.
Get a sniper rifle

Before we continue, let’s go open up that other BSAA container. Head all the way to the east end of the road.
When you get to the dip, loop around the truck to the left. Climb the ladder, and drop off over by the exploding barrel (foreshadowing!). Open the container and then back up to the barrel.
When the three zombies pop up, toss the tank at them, and then clean up any stragglers. Inside the container, there’s a crate at the back with Rifle Ammo and the Marksman 1A sniper rifle.
Head back to the Central Camp and hit the save again.
Willis Tower

For the next part, you have to head back into the Logistics Warehouse to the south of the Central Camp. Duck under the garage door and retrace your steps all the way back up to the roof.
You’ll find a generator there to fuel. Do that, and punch the button to your left.

Through the gate, open the crate on your left for a Hand Grenade and some Machine Gun Ammo. To the right, use the zipline.
Head east. Watch on your left for a trash can with some Scrap inside and some Handgun Ammo on the last desk in the northeast corner.

Look to your right for a gap in the wall and some stairs beyond. Before you get to the stairs, there’s a boarded-up door. Smash the boards to get inside, and grab the Green Herb at the back of the room.

Head up the stairs and take a right. Take another right at the end of the floor to find a large office. There’s a Mr. Raccoon on the right and a Gunpowder (Large) on the desk at the back.

Go back past the stairs and follow the hall around to the left. At the back, you’ll find a ramp up. At the top, look to the right and shoot the two boards to open a path.
On the other side, cross the balance beam and smash the crate at the other end for some Handgun Ammo.

To the right, shoot another door and jump a couple times. When you’re out of jumps, turn left. At the wall, look left again and a little up for another door.
The debris will form a place you can drop onto. Do that, and then smash open the next door.

After another jump, pry open the elevator shaft and drop inside. Turn right to look up the shaft. (I’m writing this as I go and those elevators are 100% going to fall on me, aren’t they?) YEP. The right one falls first and then the left one. You’ll have plenty of time to avoid them.
At the top of the elevator shaft, smash the crate for some Handgun Ammo. Drop off the ledge to the right.

Loop around to the left and smash through the next door. You’ll get a handy tutorial tip about this next section. Clear out the BSAA zombies by shooting the glass out from under them.
Look up and to the northeast. Shoot the left one for one more zombie (and the credits you get for killing it).

From underneath those doors, look behind you for an I-beam resting on a window. Shoot the window to drop a ramp you can climb.

At the top of the ramp, there’s a crate with Shotgun Shells, but deal with the zombies to your right first. Two of them have grenades and the other two have machine guns. Use the wall on your right for cover.
At the top of the next ramp, you'll drop onto the Grimstone Building Rooftop.
Grimstone Building Rooftop

Unlock the gate ahead of you and then grab the two Hand Grenades, Tracking Module (Common), and the Relay. Combine the Relay with the parts you already have to make a Detonator.
Take the door to the west to find a safe room with a Green Herb and another Supply Box. Cash in your kills for some weapon upgrades.

Back outside, there’s a path to the north. Go through the two doors, and then shoot down the ladder on the other side. Climb up for a crate with Machine Gun Ammo, a Hand Grenade, and some Requiem Ammo.
Climb back down and keep heading west.

At the top of the stairs, you’ll spot your way down. You’ll be heading to the right first, but now’s a good time break in your new sniper rifle. Take out anything moving. While you’re at it, shoot down the crate you can see there.
Cross over and then go up the stairs. There’s another set of stairs on the far side that lead up to the next floor. At the top, you’ll run into a bunch of zombies. Hand Grenades work well here.

Up on the next floor, a zombie and a blisterhead will pop out of the crate you shot down. Deal with them, and then check inside for a Green Herb and some Rifle Ammo.

On the next floor up (climb up on top of the crate for a shortcut), you’ll find a ramp that’ll let you slide down to the lift. Turn the wheel and go down the stairs on your right.
At the bottom, take a left. There’s some Gunpowder (Large) on your right. Follow the only path you can until you unlock the other door into the safe room.

Back at the bottom of the stairs, take a right this time. Grab the Green Herb, and then jump off the ramp and keep following the room around to the left. Deal with any zombies you see pop up.
Smash the first crate you see for some Shotgun Shells. Snake across to the other crate for more Shotgun Shells.

Use your sniper rifle to pick off the zombies to the south of you. You’ll get at least two plus a chainsaw zombie. While you’re doing it, though, watch for Blisterheads from behind you.

Keep heading up and then follow the top floor around to the north. Go through the door and smash the three crates for Shotgun Shells. Grab the Tracking Module (Common) and then turn the wheel for the lift.

Drop off the ledge and go use the lift. You’ll have to pause a couple times on the way down to fight off waves of zombies. Eventually, the elevator will become an express to the basement.
Grimstone Building Basement

Ignore any zombies you see for a second and just run forward to the exploding tank. Toss it back into the crowd behind you and then run to the right and up the pipe.
You can pause in the pipe to clean up any stragglers for their precious credits.
Unlock the gate at the top of the pipe to get back to the street.
Construction site

Before you go back to the Central Camp, cross the sinkhole bridge one more time. On the left, there’s a small construction site with a generator out front. Fuel it up and open the doors. Climb onto the scaffolding and open the crate for some Scrap, Shotgun Shells, Rifle Ammo, and a Mixed Herb (G+G).

Drop off the west side of the scaffolding. Go around the dumpster on your right and duck under the pipe for more Scrap.
Keep heading west to find a clearing with a bunch of zombies. Smash the crate on the left for some Handgun Ammo and then open the truck for some Shotgun Shells.
On the right side, climb down the ladder to head underground.

In the sewer, take a right (west) and follow the tunnel. Take the first left to find a room with another ladder down. In the next room, grab the Green Herb and Shotgun Shells.
Head north into the subway car. Take a right and smash the crate at the end for some more Shotgun Shells.

Hop out of the car at the other end and deal with the zombies on the tracks. Keep heading west along the left side of the tunnel for a crate with some Rifle Ammo.
Climb into the subway car on your right to find some baby spiders (who all drop ammo?) and a Mr. Raccoon.

To the right, hop out of the car and up onto the platform. Turn left and open the crate for some Machine Gun Ammo, Rifle Ammo, and Requiem Ammo.
Turn around and take the stairs at the other end of the platform up. Unlock the door on your right to open the path back to the street, but don’t go through.
Go to the left instead. Deal with the zombies and then push through the next turnstile. Keep following the path until you unlock another gate. That one will lead back up to the street over by the Cafe Oasis from forever ago.

Head to the left (west) to go open the BSAA container. This one has a Tracking Module (Legendary) and the BSAA Charm.
Go back through the subway and all the way back to hit the Central Camp one more time for any more upgrades (like the Body Armor Lv.2) and to save.
Then, go (finally) use the detonator on the Incomplete Bomb.
