BREAKING: God real, Vampire Survivors getting an official spin-off
Vampire Crawlers is an official spin-off of the incredible Vampire Survivors
Vampire Survivors is back! Except it's not back as Vampire Survivors, it's back as Vampire Crawlers, which is technically different.
Vampire Crawlers (or VC, for short) comes from series creator Luca Galante and his studio, poncle, and puts a not-so-unique spin on the pretty-damn-unique original game: it's a rogue-lite deckbuilder.
If those words disgust you in 2025, I have really bad news about how many really great ones have come out this year already. But, also, I have good news: Vampire Crawlers isn't just a deckbuilder, it's so named because it also includes some dungeon crawling elements, which you can see in the trailer above.
The idea here is that you're adventuring through a map – a la Vampire Survivors, but this time in first person – and using a deck of cards inspired by the original game's weapons to decimate encounters filled with bats, zombies, and other random enemies.
In the trailer, you can see the player using knives and even adding augments like the ring that causes additional projectiles to spawn. There's even a summoning mechanic for the various survivors. I don't know. There's a lot going on in that trailer, and it's a little hard to follow.
Most importantly, Vampire Crawlers is coming out in 2026 – "before GTA 6" and early/mid next year is all we really know on the release date. Notably, Sony has already said that Vampire Crawlers will be coming to PlayStation, which really makes it seem like Vampire Crawlers won't be an early access title the way Survivors was.
We'll surely learn more about Crawlers in the next few months, but Jesus Christ next year is already looking just as stacked as 2025 was.
