'Has Bungie salvaged Marathon?' - Episode 2 of Escape Will Make Me Pod

Last week, I (hey, Ryan again) launched a podcast about Bungie's Marathon. It's not a Rogue official podcast, but I'm one of the Rogues, so I'm writing about it here too. Instead, it's a collaboration between myself and two great YouTuber guys: Skarrow9 and JakeTheAlright. If you missed the writeup last week, you can find it here.

This week, on our second episode, we sat down to talk about the new release date trailer for Marathon, as well as the big and shiny collector's edition. We also tackled what I think is a pretty important topic in the Marathon community: has Bungie done the work to save Marathon or is it going to crash and burn?

It's a good chat, I think. Marathon has been pretty exhausting to follow and cover because it's been so volatile. Things really seem to be turning around, but Bungie has six weeks to play this thing basically flawlessly. Because, even as things turn around, the trust is low and every misstep is going to erase a lot of the goodwill earned.

We, the podcast boys, will be keeping a close eye on Bungie's movements on the road to launch. I have hope, the same way I've had hope in Marathon over the past year. But I've also followed Bungie long enough to know that they're gonna step in it eventually. It's only a matter of when and how bad the mess is.
