Those are the eight people who have died at the hands of ICE in the first few weeks of 2026. That we know of. Six of them died in detention centers behind closed doors. Two of them were murdered in the street and on video.

Minnesota is the latest US state to be occupied by ICE and CBP. They are abducting people off of the street. They are terrorizing children. The picture above is of 5-year-old Luis Conejo Ramos being loaded into a black SUV by masked strangers. His crime? His parents were seeking asylum in the US through the proper channels. Liam and his father are reportedly currently in federal detention in Texas.

When we founded Rogue, we wrote in our About page that:

We want to feel safe in what we’ve built, and we want you to feel safe with us. At Rogue, all are welcome because everything is better when it’s enjoyed together. We are fearlessly inclusive, and that means we will never tolerate bigotry, hate, or exclusion. … We’re glad you’re here with us. Be good to each other, and let’s make something amazing together.

Right now, it’s time to help take care of each other. This isn’t about politics or keeping politics out of gaming. This is about being human and standing by our mission of inclusivity and togetherness.

There are lots of lists of resources and places to donate. We’re going to crib from them here, but our friends at Never Post have a good place to start and author Naomi Kritzer has a great post with information and resources.

If you have the extra cash, here are some places to donate:

We've already donated to the Immigrant Rapid Response Fund, but they're all good causes.

Your support doesn’t have to be financial.

  • Call your representatives and senators. 5 Calls has scripts and resources to help you find phone numbers
  • Boycott and shame businesses that support and provide logistics for ICE. Here are the hotels providing housing to ICE agents. Enterprise rents them their black SUVs.

Most of all, don’t look away. Follow the news on the ground. Minnesota Public Radio, Sahan Journal, MinnPost, Minnesota Reformer, and Unicorn Riot are good places to start.

This is a dark and scary time. We will get through it together with solidarity and compassion.
