Stone Kite is the new transmedia studio from Bungie Co-founder Jason Jones and Margaret Stohl
Bungie co-founder Jason Jones has started a new transmedia studio with author Margaret Stohl as its CEO.
Officially announced today, Stone Kite is the newest studio co-founded by author Margaret Stohl, CEO, and Bungie co-founder, Jason Jones.
Based in Santa Monica, CA, Stone Kite plans to build properties across multiple mediums, working with 250 creators globally. One Zero One is their breakout IP, and while the first issue of it's four-part comic series is available today, the team is already planning a variety of content for OZO that will encompass written stories, audio plays, and screen productions that will become available throughout 2027.
“Stone Kite is about breaking down those old media silos. Instead of starting in one medium and adapting outward, we bring the best global creators from different disciplines into the room from day one to shape the world together,” Stohl said in a behind-closed-doors presentation, "We change the conversation. We never say that’s how it’s traditionally done. We build communities, and we listen to them. That’s how we’re creating worlds that people can explore for decades, in whatever ways they want.”
Their website is available now, along with a Discord server, and if you've used Bungie.net in the last 20 years, you'll immediately recognize some of that DNA on display from the account creation and customization, to the goodies the site showers you in for signing up on dayo one. Zero One Zero is available for pre-order on their store page for a physical edition that will include all 4 chapters of the story.
