The Witcher 4 won't be at Gamescom, but The Witcher 3's new DLC will be
Grab your swords and prepare for adventure... in about 2 years.
The annual Gamescom Opening Night Live show is coming tomorrow at 8pm CEST/2pm ET/11am PT and already, we're getting drops from some of the developers about what to expect ahead of the big event.
This year, Michał Nowakowski, the Joint Chief Executive Officer at CD Projekt Red, took to social media to confirm that while CDPR will have a presence at the show, The Witcher 4 will not. He did, however, reveal that the game's launch window is in 2028.
While no particular time of the year was set, we're hoping that The Witcher 4 can avoid the sins of CDPR's past and launch at least close to that date. [Editor's note: Or at least avoid getting taken off of store fronts for being too buggy and incomplete].

If you're itching to step back into the world of The Witcher you (hopefully) won't have to wait long. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Songs of the Past expansion will be on full display both as part of ONL and available to check out on the Gamescom showfloor. The DLC — dropping more than 10 years after the game's original 2019 release — will explore a "dark story" and act as a send off for Geralt of Rivia before shifting focus to the young Witcher-in-training, Ciri, in The Witcher 4.
