A History of Helldivers 2: The Heroic Rescue of Very Sick Children

When Helldivers were forced to pick between Anti-Tank Mines and a hospital full of very sick child patriots, the choice was clear.

It was the summer of 2184, and Super Earth citizenry morale was at a high following the Dark Fluid implosion of the Meridia Supercolony. The black hole in Meridia’s place simply floated there, placid and harmless. Some Helldivers would report irregularities if they were to park their Super Destroyer outside Meridia: flashes of purple light, snippets of whalesong, bubbling and burbling. The Ministry of Truth was quick to assure forces that Meridia was merely a benign black hole, and encouraged Helldivers who found themselves entranced by gazing upon one to report in for voluntary counseling sessions.

Super Earth High Command was not content to rest on their laurels; instead, they issued a new Major Order. Operation Destiny Manifested targeted the planets of Erata Prime, Turing, Acamar IV, and Phact Bay.

With the Supercolony destroyed, it is now finally possible to clear out the spreading Terminid infestation. Since the Terminids corrupted the perfectly-designed Terminid Control System, they have infected world after world with their tyranny, forcing colonists to evacuate their homesteads. Now, the time has come to reclaim the lost dreams of our hardworking citizens. Though we no longer have the aid of the TCS to hold the Terminids at bay, the new influx of SEAF recruits from the recent mobilization will allow the containment of the Terminids through conventional means. Meanwhile, Super Earth's greatest chemists are hard at work on an improved, even-more-perfectly-designed Termicide 2.0. Our citizens clamor for the opportunity to stake their claim and pursue their dreams upon the worlds stolen from them by the Terminids.
