Consume Me! is a relatable slice-of-life story about teenagerhood, but it's also a heartfelt game bursting with humor and zany art.
While my colleagues are putting themselves through the try and die again cycle of Hades 2, I found myself locked in an entirely different kind of gauntlet. Consume Me! is a slice-of-life RPG where I play as Jenny, a high school student juggling parental expectations, goofing off over the summer, and her inner anxieties. As someone who has survived their turbulent teenage years and is now a mid-30s person with adult responsibilities, dependents, and a spouse, I used to be confident in saying I would never go back — but Consume Me! reminded me that it wasn’t all sour.
