Helldivers 2's Void incursion storyline got absolutely bananas
Helldivers 2's latest Major Orders took us into the Void, to the corrupted planet of Seasse, and things got Event Horizon-y
Helldivers 2’s Galactic War is my favorite part of the game.
While the individual battles are a blast, there’s nothing quite like watching the community come together to fight off overwhelming waves of hostile aliens, fueled by misguided patriotism and access to orbital lasers. This past week, Arrowhead told the story of an incursion into the mysterious, extradimensional Void, and it was the Galactic War at its best.
The Galactic War is told through Major Orders – community-wide missions to focus on specific planets or goals – and text dispatches from High Command. The Illuminate have opened up a Void on the Galactic Map, and Super Earth finally cracked the code on how to enter this mysterious realm. So, the Helldivers, the Super Earth Armed Forces, and the Democracy Space Station all headed into the Void to map it out and end it from within.
You might be wondering, hey, is it a good idea to bring the Democracy Space Station, our giant orbital support platform with planet-destroying technology attached to it, into the mysterious Lovecraft realm? Don’t worry about it!
At first, things seemed a little underwhelming. Yes, we were fighting planets in the Void, but they looked pretty similar to normal worlds, just with a weird filter on top. There were plenty of the two new enemies, the Wretches and the Crusher, but things seemed quite manageable.

On August 15, we got a notice that the polymer coating on the DSS was having an adverse reaction to the Void, but High Command assured us that “rumors of taps or knocks on the hull of the station were unfounded.” The DSS was recalled for examination, but the fight continued across the worlds of Senge 23 and Unidentified Void Planets Alpha, Beta, Delta, and Gamma.
