There’s Something Delightfully Simple About World of Warcraft: Forever
Forever? In WoW? I mean you’re really making this a tough choice
BlizzCon 2026 was absolutely packed with announcements. But the most exciting of those — at least for me — wont be out for years. Like, years and years (Diablo 5, 2029, and StarCraft, 2030).
So the big ticket item of the show that’s actually playable or will release in a reasonable time, is World of Warcraft: Forever, AKA WoW Classic+.
Forever is a third string of WoW — if you can believe it — and will live alongside retail and Classic. Even better, you’ll gain access to all three WoW games via the same subscription.
But what makes Forever unique is that it offers purely horizontal progression — past a certain point. That means that, unlike retail and Classic, where expansions and patches constantly push the goals and level cap forward, Forever will allow players to level up to 60 in the vanilla World of Warcraft world. But once there, they’ll be max power forever. Get it?
