Star Wars Zero Company developer Bit Reactor has begun bringing its furloughed employees back
Bit Reactor has made good on their promise to start bringing back furloughed employees in a rare win for game developers
Back in September, we reported on Star Wars Zero Company developer, Bit Reactor, furloughing around 80% of its employees in the leadup to launch. This means they have gone without pay for months now, as many of them have been furloughed since June of this year.
Now, CEO Greg Foertsch has said that the studio has "started the process of returning more of our team at Bit Reactor". This is in an effort to continue to support Zero Company following its critical success.
The exact number of folks coming back right away is not currently known.
We’re incredibly grateful for your support since the launch of STAR WARS Zero Company. Here’s a message from our CEO: pic.twitter.com/TtcsQbtfgv

Star Wars Zero Company has been beloved by fans across social media, and while our own Ryan wanted a bit more out of the game, it'll be fun to watch along as the game continues to get support. Hopefully this leads to additional content.
This is a rare win for employees in the industry right now amid an ongoing flood of layoffs and studio closures. Just yesterday, we reported on another big win for the Dungeons and Dragons and Studio X teams joining the union at Wizards of the Coast. It's clear that the industry is still in a tumultuous state, but it's nice to see well-deserved wins like this.
