Rogue Roundup for August 14, 2026
This week, we're saying goodbye to a founder and hello to a new friend. So let's get right into it.
It's been almost a year since Rogue launched, and we've all had a hell of a time putting this website together for all of you. The support has been amazing, and we're so grateful to all of you. But even with support, sometimes it comes time to move on.
Jeff Parkin informed us of his decision to move on to other projects earlier this week. So you unfortunately won't see his byline pop up on the site as often as you have. We thank Jeff, one of the four original owners and founders, for everything he's done for Rogue, from meaty walkthroughs to the design of our logo. He'll be missed not only by us, his co-workers, but by our audience.
The beautiful thing about something like Rogue is that is lives and grows beyond the people that made it. It's our goal that Rogue will survive all of its founders moving on to other pastures and projects, with new voices taking the mantle.
Cass and Ryan are still helming the ship day-to-day, with Alice still helping us out with logistics in the shadows. Plus we've got Tom, whose been helping out with cool posts and insights each week (be sure to check him out on YouTube as well, where he's known as Geeky Pastimes).
And now we're introducing you all to Austin Ford, who's going to be helping us out with the news for a bit. You'll see plenty of stuff each week from him, breaking down what's going on out there in the world of video games, and helping us all keep up to date about new games hitting the scene.
As for the rest of the stuff that happened this week, let's get into it.

This week, Tom put a game called Wardogs on our radar, which seems to mix the freelance/money-based gameplay of Counterstrike with the big-scale war of a Battlefield! It's hitting the early access circuit very soon.
Cass informed us of the incredible horrors that have made their way into Helldivers 2 with some new Illuminate enemies.
Cass also proved how many friends they have by telling us all what it's like trying to play Big Walk with a much larger group than most co-op games will allow.

And because it's a day that ends in Y and it's 2026 and it's Rogue.site, Cass wrote about the horrors of AI and how it's ruining games and all of our lives. (There is a truly wild quote in this one, you have to check it out).
Ryan started the week off by dropping a video (and writing it up) about the new Horde Siege mode in Gears of War E-Day, and how some new features really help it stand out.

Ryan checked out the single player modes in Marvel Tokkon: Fighting Souls because he's too scared to go online and get destroyed by 12 year old who main Wolverine.
And for Austin's first post, the next COD beta is getting a campaign mission!
For this week's co-op mode, we'll send you off with some greatest hits of Jeff.
- Jeff's great Cyberpunk series highlights the dystopia we live in
- Jeff did a killer walkthrough for Resident Evil 9
- Jeff told us like it is when it comes to Taylor farms
- And Jeff found dino games about swords
You can read even more Jeff via his author page, and we encourage you to do so!
This week seems somehow very long and very short all at the same time.
Well, we've got some stuff coming your way as we prepare to celebrate the one year anniversary of the site. Thank you for being with us all this time, and we'll see you again next week.
