Last Man Sitting is a dumb but fun Survivors-like set in an office

Fight back against automation with the power of an office chair and a big gun

It’s been four years since the release of Vampire Survivors, and we can’t escape the long shadow that game cast, creating a new genre in the wake of its massive smash success. Every time I think that we’ve plumbed the well and accomplished all a Survivors game can really do, someone tries something new. Last year, one of my guilty pleasures was Megabonk, a game where I could play as a skeleton on a skateboard firing a revolver at the endless swarm of enemies chasing me down.

Now, I’ve found myself mired in another one of these games: Last Man SItting, a Survivors-like bold enough to ask: what if we took the ridiculous, over-the-top megaviolence of this genre and placed it in the humble office?

If you’re unfamiliar with Survivors games, they follow a similar formula: you have a starting character and gear, and you’re put into an arena where endless hordes of enemies relentlessly chase you down. As you kill them, you gain experience, which translates into upgrades. Over time, you unlock new characters and in-game abilities, and keep some of the power from previous rounds. Eventually, you become the threat, mowing down waves of baddies and slurping down their experience for some fun new skills.
