It's official: We're going to Hammerfell in The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel
The title, location, and timeframe for the next Elder Scrolls game just dropped.
In a celebration of their 40th anniversary, Bethesda Game Studios has uploaded a new YouTube video, hosted by gaming uncle Todd Howard, looking back at the company's storied history. The video serves as a lovely retrospective and gives us a glimpse at what's coming in the future.
Now, after months of speculation following vague posts from Asha Sharma and counting asterisks, we finally have the official name for the upcoming Elder Scrolls game: The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel. The upcoming game's new teaser, which is available down below, is bookended with a new quote that reads:

The Elder Scrolls community has been wracking its collective brains for months trying to figure out if the rumors of a prequel could be true. The new quote for the game above, however, includes a date: 4E 206, five years after the events of Skyrim. This confirms that the game will take place after the previous entry in the series, but some dot connecting here could point to time travel in the realm of Tamriel. Additionally, clues throughout the 40th anniversary video like the above quote and a snippet of gameplay from The Elder Scrolls: Arena point to the location of ES6 being the long rumored Hammerfell.
The video concludes with a big thank you from Todd Howard and the developers at Bethesda cheering. Text fills a void that reads "Thank you for 40 great years. Cheers to 40 more..." so while we still don't have a release date for the newly minted The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel, it could still happen between now and my grandkids putting me in a nursing home.
